Sergio Cabrera
The son of exiled Spanish actors, Sergio Cabrera was born in Medellín, Colombia, in 1950. At 10 years of age Cabrera went to China, where he spent his remaining childhood and adolescence. There he completed his studies and subsequently returned to Colombia, inspired by the ideology of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. In 1975, he immigrated to London to continue his studies in cinematography at the London Film School, and has dedicated himself to work in cinema ever since. Cabrera has now achieved international recognition for films such as La Estrategía del caracol (The Strategy of the Snail, 1994), considered to be one of the greatest pieces of Colombian cinema.

Hijo de actores españoles exiliados en Colombia, Sergio Cabrera nació en Medellín en 1950. Parte de su niñez y su adolescencia las pasó en China, a donde llego a la edad de 10 años. Allí termino sus estudios. Luego volvió a Colombia influido por la ideología de la Revolución Cultural China. Posteriormente se desplazo a Londres en el año 1975 con la intención de desarrollar estudios de cine en el London Film School, dedicándose desde entonces a la actividad cinematográfica logrando el reconocimiento internacional por películas como La estrategia del caracol (1994), considerado en colombiana como una pieza imprescindible del cine nacional.
