Colombiage & Sabor- Literature Event
Last month Sabor collaborated with Colombiage, by catering the two-day extravaganza at the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith. As a follow-up, we will be celebrating jointly the anniversary of the independence of Cartagena on 11th November by hosting a literary evening at Sabor with the Colombian writer Elvira Sanchez Blake, a senior lecturer in Spanish literature and language with a Ph.D. from Cornell University, and a specialisation in Latin American literature and women studies. Elvira will be talking about her recent book ‘Espiral de Silencio’/ ‘A Spiral of Silence’, which explores Colombia’s civil war from the perspective of women.

This includes a three course dinner, designed especially for this occasion, and a welcome drink.

Sabor Restaurant
Sabor Restaurant and Bar opened in Islington, London in 2004, serving Nuevo Latino cuisine – fresh, delectable South American food with a fusion touch.
The food served includes not only traditional empanadas and juicy steaks, but also light, fresh and innovative dishes like grouper encrusted with pumpkin and cumin seeds, pan-fried and served on a quinoa fritter with a tamarillo and cumcuber salsa. At the bar lively cocktails made with fresh tropical fruits are served, plus classic mojitos, caipirinhas and margaritas. Latin American beers and Chilean and Argentinian wines have been carefully selected to complement Sabor’s special dishes.
The management and staff of the restaurant have worked many times with various charities and other organisations to publicise and promote South American art, music, film and literature. They are especially pleased to be associated with Colombiage, with its particular focus on Colombia.
Opening Hours
We are open for dinner six days a week, Tuesday to Sunday, from 6pm to 11pm. Day or night throughout the week we cater for parties, weddings, civil partnerships and other events. We are also happy to host conferences, presentations and other business meetings during the day.
